Motivation

• Current component-based systems are often too complex to learn efficiently.

• Embedded software is becoming complex: We need a component-based runtime system to support embedded systems for better reuse.

• A simple but general abstraction is needed to apply CBSD to most embedded applications

• A more user-friendly and easier-to-use environment.

• A much more lightweight implementation is needed.

• Thus, we design ''SLIM'' (SCREAM LInux Middleware)
